Heavy Duty Type K Thermocouple Kiln & Furnace Probe with 6 Pcs Ceramic Insulator (12 Gauge) for VERY High Temperatures up to 1832 °F
Specifications:
This Kiln Thermocouple includes:
1) A Ceramic Mounting Block.
2) 1m (3.3 ft) wire extension with a Flat Pin (Miniature) connector at the end.
- Its Flat Pin connector can be connected directly to Digital Thermometers.
- By removing its Flat Pin, it can also be connected to Temperature Controllers.
- It can measure VERY HIGH temperatures up to 1832 °F.
- This heavy duty 12 gauge comes in 7.5 inch length.
- The length of this thermocouple is measured by the number of 1 inch long ceramics.
- Some extra length is added for connections.
- You can adjust the length of this thermocouple by cutting the probe/thread length at installation.

Assembling tips:
Regarding how to assemble the thermocouple, please check the pictures provided in "Additional Images" section and the given instructions on each picture (pictures 1-3) and also follow the instruction, as below:
*******Please make sure that you'll remove the plastic tubes (red and black tubes) from thermocouple leads.*******
Please also note that extension wire with red connector and the thermocouple lead with red tube are positive poles and need to be connected together and to the positive pole of your controller/thermometer. If any of the connections are reversed then the reading would be off.
The yellow flat pin connector is used when the thermocouple should be connected to a thermometer with a matching female connector.
But for wiring this thermocouple to the controllers with screw type terminals you don't need the flat pin and can simply remove it and turn the stripped wires around the screw type terminals of your controller.
There are also a few points that you need to consider when you want to get the correct reading out of this unit:
1) You need to place the thermocouple exactly where you need to measure the temperature.
2) At least 2/3rd of the length of the thermocouple has to be placed in the oven/kiln (just one inch is not enough). In order to do that the ceramic terminal has to be completely attached to the outer kiln wall.
3) The thermocouple leads/wires have to come out of the metal parts connected to the ceramic terminal to be in contact with the extension wire connectors (please check pictures 4-5, in "Additional Images" section, for more clarification).
